Having a bad day? Well, then, tell me something good! Every once in a while, we need some reminding. We need some reminding that the promises of God will come true. Scripture is littered with thousands of promises, a declaration or assurance that God will do what He says He will do. We are given these promises to encourage us to keep going on. To continue the race. And to keep our eyes steadfast with an eternal perspective.

The Promise of Deliverance

“…and call upon me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall glorify me.” Psalm 50:15

The promise of the Holy Spirit

“And I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you. And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.27And I will put my Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes and be careful to obey my rules”. Ezekiel 36:26-27

The Promise of Freedom

“There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. For the law of the Spirit of life has set you[b] free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death.” Romans 8:1-2

The Promise of God’s Faithfulness

“No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation, he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.” 1 Corinthians 10:13

The Promise of a New Identity

“Therefore if any man is in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things become new.” 2 Corinthians 5:17

The Promise to Avoid Sin

“But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.” Galatians 5:16

The Promise of Answered Prayer

Because he holds fast to me in love, I will deliver him; I will protect him, because he knows my name. When he calls to me, I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will rescue him and honor him.” Psalm 91:14-15

The Promise the Enemy will Flee

“Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” James 4:7

The Promise of the Lord’s Presence

The Lord is a stronghold for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble. And those who know your name put their trust in you, for you, O Lord, have not forsaken those who seek you.” Psalm 9:9-10

The Promise of Help

“Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” Isaiah 41:10

Tell Me Something Good

The promises..there are many…and sometimes we need to remember. That the God we serve has offered us plenty. But because our minds wander and we make too little of Him…we might forget. We might forget to check-in and recall all that the Lord has done…

We serve an Abundant God. A Faithful God. A Present God amid our troubles.

Tell me something good…What promise of God do you need to hold on to?
