In my frail humanness, I️ shriek at the sound of suffering. I️ wave my white flag. I️ cower at the thought of hard circumstances and situations. I️ run from conflict and turn inward. I️ too easily choose despair. I️ somehow become unaware of others as I️ become hyper-focused on myself. I️ don’t breed hope and love at these times. But God is teaching me to stay in the fight and finish well.
I️ bought an insta-pot yesterday. It seems to be all the rage and this friend sold me on it. I️ mean, she just went on and on and on about how awesome it is. She claims to use it almost every day and it can cook anything (at least that’s what she said). She can saute, slow cook, pressure cook, and steam. You have a choice in how you live your life. You can choose to accept the spiritual gifts offered to you right now. You can choose peace in the midst of chaos. You can choose joy in the monotony. You can choose hope in bleak circumstances. You can choose forgiveness when undeserved. You can choose to love the unloveable. You can live like Jesus today.
Jesus lived so in tune with the mission given to Him by His Heavenly Father that He did not allow anything to get in the way. He wasn’t afraid of rejection but rather knew that not everyone He encountered would be changed. What needs to change in your life in order to live this way?
