In my frail humanness, I️ shriek at the sound of suffering. I️ wave my white flag. I️ cower at the thought of hard circumstances and situations. I️ run from conflict and turn inward. I️ too easily choose despair. I️ somehow become unaware of others as I️ become hyper-focused on myself. I️ don’t breed hope and love at these times. But God is teaching me to stay in the fight and finish well.
For some reason, the discussion of the sovereignty of God keeps popping up in my life over and over again. I can’t seem to escape it. I know it is a major struggle for us. Yes! I’ve talked to some of you!
We seem to be fine with God’s sovereignty as long as things are going our way. But as soon the rubber hits the road, look out…we begin to flounder.
I don’t know if I can even fathom…I don’t know. But I do hope I would remain faithful even in the midst of losing everything.
