Not everything is perfect. And I can’t fix it or make it all better. I can’t back up time or have a redo. I am unable to change time. After two dog bites and some serious crankiness, we had to put our dog of 13 1/2 years down. As much as we reason and talk the decision through, we still struggle with doubt. Did we do the right thing? Right now?
Life is full of uncertainty. Seasons change. People move. Friendships cease. Jobs shake, rattle and roll. Yet, there is One who is unchanged, unmoved, and unshakeable. His name is Jesus.
Whatever your Christmas season may be holding–there is someone who will hold you through.
The wisest man who ever lived, King Solomon, had everything a man could dream of. The greatest riches and unfathomable earthly wisdom. Yet, when it was all said and done…he found nothing on this earth completely satisfied. Vanity, vanity, all is vanity. Listen to the words of this wise man…
God’s timing is perfect.
“For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven.” Ecclesiastes 3:1
We can anticipate wholeness in heaven.
“He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also, he has put eternity into man’s heart.” Ecclesiastes 3:12
God’s ways endure forever.
“I perceived that whatever God does endures forever; nothing can be added to it, nor anything taken from it. God has done it, so that people fear before him.” Ecclesiastes 3:14
How do we respond to a sovereign God? A God who holds the world in His hands. Separates day from night. Hangs the stars in orbit. Determines the length of our days.
“The end of the matter; all has been heard. Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole duty of man.” Ecclesiastes 12:13
Thanks for every other magnificent article.
Where else may just anyone get that kind of information in such an ideal approach of writing?
I’ve a presentation next week, and I’m at the look for such info.
Hi Ralph…are you looking for a book in regards to death & grieving in particular? Here is one by Joni Eareckson Tada called “Making Sense of Suffering.” As far as my blog is concerned, it is all original material unless noted otherwise. I wrote this blog in memory of my dog Scamp, who passed away after being a part of my life for nearly 14 years. I’m glad you enjoyed it and I pray it brings some comfort and hope to you as well.
