Your business is God's business

Why Your Business is God’s Business

Posted on December 5, 2016May 8, 2020 by Cheerful Soul

Your business is God’s business. Let me say that again…your business is God’s business, which adds a new perspective to how we view our time. So often we view our time as a personal right. We think it is our alienable right to determine what we do, when we do it, and with whom. However, Scripture presents a different standpoint. Above all, God is in the smallest of details.

God wants your all.

We often view our time as “ours.” We wake up with our agenda, pre-mapped out with bits of minutia that have to be done. However, do we include God in our decision-making process? Does it cross our mind that He might have something for us to do? Have we left Him any wiggle room?

However, I️ have good news for you. God has prepared good works for you to do! In other words, He has a plan for your life.

And you were dead in the trespasses and sins in which you once walked, following the course of this world, following the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience— among whom we all once lived in the passions of our flesh, carrying out the desires of the body and the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, like the rest of mankind.

But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved— and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.” Eph. 2:1-10 (emphasis added)

God has plans for you.

I pray this truth shakes you to the core. Before the beginning of time. No planets and stars were hung in the sky. Before the mountains were shaped into form. God knew you. He had plans for you. Because you are His masterpiece, created to do great things. God has a purpose for you in changing diapers, stuffing lunch boxes, folding clothes, and buying Christmas presents. Minutia matters to Him. The smallest things matter to Him.

We tend to live this life segmented. One day a week we give to Jesus, the other six we consider all ours. However, God wants to penetrate every bit and piece of us. He wants to include us in His work here on earth.

Truth be told, God is working all around you right now. Question is…are you willing to join Him?

What is God asking you to do today? How does He want to rearrange your plans? Will you listen to His voice?
