What if we started living out what we say we believe…
I mean, I wonder what would happen if we, as believers, started living differently. If rather than merely confessing with our mouth that these wonders found in Scripture are true. What if our hearts believed them also, and we chose to surrender, and to stand firm on His promises as truth.
If we really believed that God could move mountains and raise people from the dead.
If we put our hope in a God who turned the water into wine.
If we trusted that He would heal the brokenhearted, and save lost souls.
If we had faith as small as mustard seeds…oh yah…what about those?
If we wholeheartedly desired to surrender, to whatever our call.
If we, small in number, believed He could do it ALL.
If we put ourselves out on a limb and stated, “Yes Lord, you are good.” Even when our circumstances are deplorable. I wonder, what would happen then?
I waited patiently for the Lord;
he turned to me and heard my cry.
2 He lifted me out of the slimy pit,
out of the mud and mire;
he set my feet on a rock
and gave me a firm place to stand.
3 He put a new song in my mouth,
a hymn of praise to our God.
Many will see and fear the Lord
and put their trust in him.
May we start our week in awesome wonder of the Mighty God we serve. May we look at our lives and repent of our ugly sin. May our eyes be turned upward; after all, we are nothing without Him. May our feet be firmly planted, so we can sing praises again.
What if? What if we started believing? What do you think would change?
