Every once in awhile, I am awestruck at the intricate creativity of God. As I take a glance out my window, I behold the wonder of God. The unfortunate thing…is that I often fail to see.
I fail to take a look out the window
From the very beginning, God was creative. He was weaving together a very good plan. However, from the start of things, we can’t always see what He is up to. From our perspective, things are not always very clear. For example, imagine if all we saw was Day 1 of Creation. In all honesty, I don’t think it would make much sense to us. It was dark. And it was light. Many of us would say, “Big fat hairy deal.”
“In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form and void, and darkness was over the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. 4 And God saw that the light was good. And God separated the light from the darkness. 5 God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And there was evening and there was morning, the first day.” Genesis 1:1-5
But God wasn’t done…and that is what we often fail to see. We fail to see that what God has started, He will finish. The work that was begun will one day be completed. You are an uncompleted project. For this reason, your life often seems “without form and void.” It is because God is still doing a work in you. As long as you have breath in this world, God is doing something in you. And let me tell you something…
When God is up to something, it is good
It takes a leap of faith to begin believing that God is not only the Creator of life…He is our life. He is our well-spring. He is our source. He is our answer. He is the author and finisher of our faith. Well, He is our everything.
“I am the Lord, your Holy One, the Creator of Israel, your King.” Thus says the Lord, who makes a way in the sea, a path in the mighty waters.” Isaiah 43:15-16
Maybe we struggle to see what God is up to in our lives because we serve a creative God. Your unusual, unpredictable, and unexplainable situation make appear to be unsensible. But not to a God who spoke this entire world into existence. Take a look around. Does a caterpillar cocooning into a butterfly make sense? Or can you comprehend the intricacies of the human cell? Of course not. We are incapable of fully explaining an unexplainable God.
But..
We can trust.
We can have faith.
We can begin today by believing that God is good.
How do you see God creatively working in your life?
