Merry Christmas! May you feel the presence of our holy Savior today…wherever you are. Regardless of your current circumstances, may you revel in the glory of Jesus for the work He has done on your behalf. Giving up the splendors of heaven, He came to earth to give us salvation…the greatest gift imaginable to all mankind.
“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” Isaiah 9:6
In great anticipation, I cannot wait for my four bundles of joy to open their eyes this morning! This Christmas comes with an extra blessing since we have our adopted son home. He is the best Christmas present ever and I’m sure today will be memorable! The holiday season has been filled with shopping for the perfect gifts…hoping to meet each longing. But regardless of the gifts exchanged, I am overwhelmed with a deep sense of blessing.
We have so much to be thankful for! And as I look around at everything that surrounds me, I can barely take it all in. Life is beautiful. The family. The friends. The woven intricacy of things. Thank you Lord for bestowing such loving kindness.
Your goodness, Lord, comes in raindrops…and in the shedding of tears, too. Knowing your presence is always near, we have nothing to fear. You hear our desperate pleas for help. You keep us in your steadfast arm. Oh Lord, I stand in awe of you, a swaddling bundle of joy.
“Little children, let no one deceive you. Whoever practices righteousness is righteous, as he is righteous. Whoever makes a practice of sinning is of the devil, for the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the works of the devil.” 1 John 3:7-8
I pray you take time to count your blessings today. I know I am counting mine!
